About
Phelps Historical Museum
Nestled in the heart of Wisconsin’s Northwoods, the Phelps Historical Museum is dedicated to preserving and sharing the rich history of Phelps and its surrounding communities. From its deep-rooted logging and fishing industries to the families and traditions that shaped the town, our museum offers a glimpse into the past through carefully curated artifacts, photographs, and personal stories.
Testimonials
My name is Abby Susor and I am an elementary school teacher at Phelps School District. Over the last several years we have been lucky enough to end our school year with a trip to the museum, which is a quick walk away from our school. This has been an invaluable educational resource for our elementary students over the past several years. Our annual field trips to the Phelps Museum have consistently provided engaging, hands-on learning experiences that complement our curriculum of Wisconsin History in meaningful ways. The museum’s exhibits are thoughtfully curated, offering students an interactive approach to the logging industry in our town, the school history as well as the town's buildings history. Each year, our students are excited to explore the collections, and learn more about their town's history.
